DENTAL INJURIES
Knocked out Tooth
Locate the tooth and
hold from the crown, not from the root. Clean the tooth but do not
handle unnecessarily. If the person is fully conscious, aware and
old enough to follow instructions then attempt to re-insert the tooth.
However check the tooth for fractures before doing so. If successful
in insertion, make the person hold it in place by biting on card.
If the tooth is fractured or you can not re-insert it, then transport
it to the dentists with the casualty by placing it in a cup of milk.
Time is a critical factor if the tooth is to be saved.
Broken Tooth
Rinse any dirt from the injured
area with warm water. Place some wet/cold cloth over the face within
the injured area.
Find and save any broken tooth fragments. Seek immediate dental
attention. |
